The emergency committee of the Korean Sports Council Labor Union said on the 4th that it had a 20-minute meeting with Yoo Seung Min, the president-elect of the Korean Sports Council, at the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul. According to the union, they discussed ways to improve the organization of the sports association and boost employee morale by establishing horizontal relations between labor and management in the future.
Yoo Seung Min met with the union's emergency committee for the first time after meeting with executives at the Olympic Center to figure out the work of the Korean Olympic Committee. They had voiced strong criticism when Lee was the former chairman.
"It's not easy to speak out inside the organization, but I had a hard time in the process of acting with courage," Yoo Seung Min said. "It's a lot of pressure to take on the heavy responsibility during the most difficult times at home and abroad, but we want to work hard day and night as we have, so please work hard." 안전놀이터
Kim Sung-ha, chairman of the union's emergency committee, said, "I sincerely congratulate the election, and I have high expectations and hopes that employees, including the union's executive, will put on the president-elect. I hope that the employees will take care of the pain and wounds of the former chairman Lee Ki-heung and improve the internal system of the organization."
The meeting was held on the basis of key demands prepared by the emergency committee of the union. The union mentioned ▲ responding to the crisis of organization and manpower reduction due to budget cuts in 2025 ▲ vitalization of dialogue between labor and management such as compliance with obligations to attend the meeting of heads of labor-management councils ▲ normalization of agency operations such as avoiding the operation of special assistants who are not in the current system ▲ operation of personnel affairs of the Secretariat centered on competent and respected human resources and improvement of working conditions of employees ▲ improvement of the treatment of workers at local workplaces.
Yoo replied that he would resolve the pending issues as much as possible through close communication and internal review with the National Assembly and the competent ministries.
The sports association's labor union has been operating under an emergency committee since January 1st, with the end of its existing executive term. The 19th executive branch will be launched by electing the next chairman through an extraordinary general meeting on the 13th.
